There was excitement when Banksy-style graffiti appeared overnight on a Droitwich wall.

Banksy is a mysterious, humorous, satirical street artist who uses a distinctive stencilling technique to create works which sell for millions.

Speculation that he’d come to Droitwich grew when a protective perspex shield was placed over the graffiti, on the side of the Old Town Hall, in St Andrew’s Street.

It depicted a child watching a television screen displaying the words “Don’t Think”.

However, the work was soon claimed by a Birmingham artist who goes by the name of Disney, meaning there was no fairytale ending for the building’s owners.

A video shared on Disney’s Instagram page shows him using a stencil to create the piece. The post is captioned: “The greatest hypnotist on planet Earth is an oblong box in the corner in the room.”

The artwork was first noticed by dog walker David Giles on the morning of January 15, 2023.
