Senior diplomat Richard Morris, the British Ambassador to Nepal from 2015 to 2019, was born in Droitwich in 1967 and studied at the town’s high school.

He accompanied Prince Harry the Duke of Sussex during his tour of the country in 2016.

A keen long-distance runner, Richard completed the Everest Marathon (the world’s highest) in 2019. The hard part was getting to the start line, which involved a 10-day trek.

He passed away in 2020.
