Norbury House, the huge town centre apartment block, was originally a luxury hotel.
But within a few short years the five-storey building became a Second World War military hospital and later housed Wychavon District Council, until its operations were centralised in Pershore in 1991.
The building was then sold to a developer for £750,000 and converted into about 90 flats. It is still home to the town’s small theatre.
